Elmwood MB Church is made up of people of all ages and walks of life coming together on a Sunday morning with the purpose of loving God, getting to know him better, and encouraging each other on this journey.
Youth and Adult Faith & Life Classes run from 9:00-9:45am. Preschool and elementary aged children join the adults for worship in the sanctuary at 10:00am. Then at 10:30, the Preschool children head downstairs to the Baby Den and the elementary children go upstairs for Kids Loft. Classes run until 11:15am at which time they rejoin the adults for fellowship after the service. Children attending Sunday School must be registered on their initial visit and dropped off and picked up by a parent/guardian on subsequent weeks. Note: Sunday School options run from September – May.
The worship service begins in the sanctuary at 10:00am. The sermons at Elmwood are biblical and practical in nature. We believe that God wants to be involved in our everyday lives, so we present the ageless truths of the Bible in a format that’s easy to understand, even if you’ve never been to church. Everyone is welcome to stay a while and visit over a cup of coffee following the service at 11:15am. Listen to past sermon podcasts.
Childcare for infants/toddlers is available for children during the service in the Baby Den located downstairs. Parents are required to sign in their children prior to dropping them off. A pager system is used for caregivers to communicate with parents during the service. A designated area is provided for parents who wish to remain with their children.
What to Wear
On Sunday morning we enter the sanctuary desiring to worship and celebrate our Creator as a church family. With this in mind, dress for comfort and with respect, so as not to distract from this purpose.
On the first Sunday of each month, we take time to reflect on the great sacrifice Jesus made when he died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. The bread and juice that are served during communion symbolize the broken body and shed blood of Jesus. This is a sacred event for those who believe that our relationship with God has been restored through the death and resurrection of Jesus. We invite all those who have committed their lives to following Jesus to take the bread and the cup.
Music is an essential part of our worship experience at Elmwood and consists of a blend of contemporary Christian songs and classic hymns intended to draw our hearts closer to the God we love.
